Chris Rau has practiced law in Virginia since 1992. He opened his own legal practice 25+ years ago, specializing in civil litigation in state and federal courts of Virginia, and before various state, federal and local agencies and units. An expert in employment matters, commercial law and litigation, estate planning and trusts, and corporate law and litigation, he can easily tailor an appropriate legal response to your needs.
Growing up around the world as the fourth son of a diplomat, Chris naturally brings a curious eye to all situations. His sensitivity to different cultures and approaches to business serves his clients well, as he understands nuances often overlooked by others.
After living in numerous countries, Chris settled in Virginia for his education and has lived here since. Chris is a graduate of The College of William and Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in international economics. He received his Juris Doctor from the esteemed Washington and Lee University of Law.
Chris enjoys time outside, particularly tending his ever-growing yard and gardens. He lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife, Susan Newton, and two school-aged children.
